Welcome to YBMUN III!

Dear delegates and to-be diplomats,

YBMUN is back yet again.

As the Secretaries-General, it is both an honour and a privilege to invite you to participate in what we assure you will be a thought-provoking and intellectually stimulating event. This conference will foster an environment of vibrant discourse, innovation, and problem-solving worldwide. With headlines recently flooded with news about violence, riots, and grave human rights violations, it is crucial now more than ever to emphasise Peace and Sustainability, the theme of the conference. Human well-being and global stability have taken a toll lately and need to be addressed urgently.

Our MUN experience dates back to our middle school years, when we were passionate debaters and dedicated countless hours to numerous MUN competitions. It was the start of an MUNning career that would span the rest of our school days, one that we don't regret to date. As experienced delegates, we assure you that MUNs are much more than mere debates. MUNs have become a location for attacking, defending, and, most importantly, compromising, where everyone strives to make "ladies and gentlemen" a reality through diplomacy and courtesy. 

And that, of course, is what makes the whole experience all the more riveting. Participating in MUNs not only teaches research and public speaking but also makes you better at forming alliances, partnerships, and, of course, friendships. All the while, you become a better writer, listener, and critical thinker. The network and skills that delegates acquire will help them navigate a complex, interconnected world.

This is the first interschool edition of YBMUN, with the first edition being held online in 2021–22 and the second as an intraschool event in 2022–23. We look forward to welcoming delegates from across Tamil Nadu to take part in this conference! We take immense pride in witnessing delegates evolve into confident speakers, adept negotiators, and compassionate global citizens through their experience at YBMUN.

We at YBMUN have put together an exciting array of committees, designed whilst keeping in mind the varied experience levels of delegates. First-timers, fear not! The first step into a completely new world may feel challenging, but the rewards and experiences of waiting are truly extraordinary. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us in case of any clarifications; we strive to make this a remarkable experience for you!

As Secretaries-General, we aspire to empower the next generation of leaders by providing a place where their opinions matter, their ideas evolve, and their solutions resonate on the global platform. We hope you have a wonderful time on the Yuvabharathi campus, where we will unite in our pursuit of fostering cooperation, understanding, and impactful change!
